Ballet through the eyes of Abya Yala
Diana Mora is an independent ballet dancer born and raised in Bolivia. She graduated from the Oficial Ballet School of Bolivia and worked as corps de ballet at the national company right after her graduation. In 2010 she became a faculty member of her former school paralel to her stage career and Graphic Design studies.
She studied Dance in France at the Université Lille III Charles de Gaulle and has since then performed on different stages in France and Germany such as Palais des Festivals in Cannes and Deutsche Oper Berlin.
She speaks Spanish, French, English and German and has a professional experience in brand design.
Besides performing mostly classical repertoire she is producing her own projects based on decolonial perspectives that she studies from bolivian indigenous artists, philosophers and culture. All of this in collaboration with film makers and other artists.
Her passion for visual arts, indigenous bolivian culture and the history of ballet has allowed her to start a choreographic journey based on the idea that ballet is a language which can be used to convey important messages. Her first production, in collaboration with Camel Studios, "A poem for Giselle, a poem for a peasant" is soon to be released.
