"Ballet through the eyes of Abya Yala"
Diana Mora is a ballet dancer born and raised in Bolivia. She graduated from the Oficial Ballet School of Bolivia and worked as corps de ballet at the national company right after her graduation. In 2010 she became a faculty member of her former school paralel to her stage career and Graphic Design studies.
Already having pedagogic education and experience, professional stage experience and language skills she decided to move to Europe in order to enrich her knowledge and experience.
She has studied Dance at the Université Lille III Charles de Gaulle, although not finished her degree due to a hard choice to make: to remain in academia or to pursue a professional ballet career in Europe. She has since then performed on different stages in France and Germany such as Palais des Festivals in Cannes and Deutsche Oper Berlin.
She speaks Spanish, French, English and German and has a profesionnal experience in brand design.
She is now producing her own dance videos based on decolonial perspectives that she studies from bolivian indigenous artists, intellectuals and culture. All of this in collaboration with film makers and other artists.
The roots of her childhood with her Quechua grandmothers has inspired her to remain as a freelance artist, not forgetting her love for Classical Repertoire and Classical music, but also understanding that liberation of humans in struggle needs to be celebrated through the arts, and to her eyes, ballet should be no exception to that.
